MISSION

Chogan is a music project led by Mehrnam Rastegari. It combines
Persian microtonal music with electro-psychedelic rock elements and
rhythmic grooves, featuring Mehrnam Rastegari on the kamancheh and
voice, Cinque Ubangi on the drums, Amit Peled on the electric
microtonal guitar, and Panagiotis Andreou on fretless electric bass. The
.sound of the group moves through ancient modes and hypnotic rhythms
Chogan is led by a female artist in a male-dominated music history and
industry. It also oFers an energetic rock take on traditional Persian
musical language, which is not common. Rather than blending genres,
Chogan builds tension between contrasting elements, electric and
.acoustic, traditional and futuristic, composed and improvised
